jQuery hide() and show()
  This method will hide and show the html elemets.

Syntax:

$(selector).hide();
$(selector).show();
$("#hideButton").click(function(){ $("p").hide(); }); $("#showButton").click(function(){ $("p").show(); });

jQuery hide() and show() with time delay and callback

Syntax:
   $(selector).hide(speed,callback);
   $(selector).show(speed,callback);

Optional Parameters:
    speed : Represents the time delay for hide or show. Acceptable values are slow, fast or integer value(Time in milliseconds).
    callback: A callback function is executed after the current effect is finished.
